I am beyond excited to announce the new studio space with you! It’s a beautiful space that perfectly reflects the dreamy and organic style of my images.
My shabby chic basement has been good to me for so many of my past sessions, but this is such a breathe of fresh air for me. I love that have a separate space to work. Now I have a dedicated space, away from my house that allows me to leave work when I’m finished for the day. I love being able to be present when I’m home and when I’m working with clients & editing. The lines don’t blur any more and I’m now going to be more productive in both aspects of my life. I also love having a dedicated space for newborn sessions where I can control the environment. And having a space to meet clients instead of a coffee shop is fantastic to boot!
For those who would like to get to know a little bit more about me here is a brief little Q&A
Q: You graduated with a degree in Psychology. How did you decide you wanted to pursue a different career path in photography? What brought you to the decision to open a studio space?
A: I studied Psychology in college because I loved it and found the subject to be fascinating (still do!). However, when I graduated college I was unsure of what to do with my degree, and then I started photographing may of my friends babies, children, and families as a hobby and I just knew that photography was what I was suppose to do. It started out as a career choice that would provide a lot of flexibility and variety. I liked the idea of doing something meaningful where I could feel like I was helping people during special and memorable moments in their life. When I obtained my degree, I was lucky to (eventually) steer away from working in hospitals and take on photography full time which allowed e to spend more time with my own family. My business took off fast and many opportunities began to arise here in the Baltimore area. I made an adventurous decision to connect with local creatives and fellow Maryland photographers that gave me so much encouragement and support. Amongst the many men and women I have met in the industry, Lisa Mathews (Lisa Robin Photography) has been been the most supportive mentor, fellow twin mom, and photografriend, I am honored to share not only this space with such a talented fellow photographer, but also share many laughs, tears, & vents of balancing being a wife, mother, and business owner (aka super woman).
I LOVE being able to document families stories through my lens and opening this new studio has turned out to be a dream come true.
Q: What are your favorite things about living in Baltimore? What are your favorite things to do?
A: I love living in Baltimore so much, and it's hard to put my finger on why. It just feels right to be here, and when I leave I'm always happy to come back. It's weird, I grew up relatively close by but I never aspired to live here as many do. It just happened, and I fell in love. There's such a vibrancy to the city. If I'm feeling blah, and I just go for a walk, I immediately feel better. My favorite thing to do is just get out and walk around a new neighborhood, exploring and discovering new streets and places. I love to go explore new parks and try new restaurants and little coffee shops, or just walk through Fells Point and window shop.
Q: What advice would you give to your 20 some-year-old self?
A: Focus on what makes you happy, and what you feel enthusiastic about. There are a lot of distractions in life, and I think it's important to pay attention to what makes you feel most YOU. Photography does just that for me :)
I absolutely loved the experience of pregnancy and becoming a Mommy and these little giggly energetic twins of mine have truly showed me just important it is to freeze a moment in time so that we can hold onto that moment forever.
As busy moms we get lost in our every days routines and busy agendas and sometimes forget to document those ever so precious milestones. Both Lisa & I are here to help you capture those moments in our bright & welcoming studio and provide you with beautiful images and prints that will last a lifetime.

Whether it is a bride, family, high school senior, or a fellow photographer I love getting to know everyone’s unique story and develop friendships with every person I meet. Photographing and documenting people and love stories and life is not about perfection. It is about creating the images that matter. It’s about love, and laughter and scrunched up noses and hugs that linger.
My heart – and my camera – would be honored to document your story.
